If your local pool doesn't provide SWIMTAG bands, or you prefer to use your own device...you can still use the SWIMTAG Website and App. There are a few options available to you:
Garmin
Most recent Garmin watches support swimming (for the full list check here), SWIMTAG has a Garmin companion watch app that is available to download on nearly all new models that support pool swimming (with the exception of the Swim 2 which doesn't support watch apps). More information can be found on our companion app here.
To get started with a Garmin Watch you will first need to sync your Garmin watch with Garmin Connect, then link your SWIMTAG Account to Garmin Connect via the 'Linked Accounts' section of the SWIMTAG Settings page. Once you have done that any new swims will be automatically transferred to SWIMTAG.
Linking your Garmin to an existing SWIMTAG account
Apple Watch
If you already have an iPhone you can use an Apple Watch (any model from Series 2 onwards) to track your swims and the data will automatically sync with SWIMTAG via our iPhone App.
Linking Apple Health to an existing SWIMTAG account
As with Garmin, the statistics are the same as the SWIMTAG wristbands but without the motion data visible in the Swim Editor.
What device do we recommend?
We find that the swim data produced by Garmin tends to be a little bit more accurate, the battery life on Garmin watches is generally better than Apple Watches too. If you are looking for something purely for swimming the Forerunner 55 / 255 would be a good entry level option that also allows you to run the SWIMTAG Watch App.
