The SWIMTAG Challenge Builder is only available on the desktop website (not the App) and enables you to create your own virtual swim challenge routes. All you need to do is give your challenge a name, map out the route then give it a short description.
Step by Step Guide:
Start by clicking the “Challenge” Tab on your SWIMTAG account then click “Build”.

You’ll be asked to name your challenge. (Try and pick a name that describes the route. If someone has already created a challenge with a similar name, then you may be shown that & you can decide if you want to use one that’s already built, or proceed to create your own).

Once you’ve named your challenge, you’ll be shown a world map. Use your mouse and the + / - keys to zoom in on your route. When you find the start point, click “Start Route”. Then when you next click on the map, it will select your start point, displaying it as a little green flag.

After that, when you click on the map, it will create waypoints along the route. If you click and drag the map, it will assume that you are trying to move the map rather than create a waypoint, but if you click on the map while keeping the mouse still, a waypoint will be created.
If your route is a straight line you may not need any waypoints, but if your route involves swimming round an island or down a stretch of river, then you may need quite a few. (Tip: try to have as few as possible as the more you have, the longer the route takes to load up).
Once you have completed the route, double click on the final waypoint to make that the end of the swim, which will be highlighted with a little red flag.

Click “Save Route” and the website should automatically zoom out and take a snapshot of the route you have created. You’ll then be prompted to give your route a brief description.

Once you have completed the description, click “Save Challenge”. Once the challenge is saved, you will then be invited to enter the challenge you have just created either as an individual or as a team.

Now it's time to pick a start date and an end date. From there you can invite friends, change your settings and do everything you are able to do with one of the existing SWIMTAG challenges.
